Last weekend Rocky Mackintosh was given the opportunity (the privilege!) to introduce to our community the 2010 Good Samaritan of the year.  This year’s honorees are Marvin and Lisa Ausherman.

In his introduction, Mackintosh stated, “Separately and as a team, they have built names for themselves as successful business people, tireless volunteers and generous donors. They have taken the notion of ‘philanthropy’ to a whole new level in our town, and we are all better for it. In fact, their commitment to Frederick has been so great, that generations to come—our children, their children and so on and so on and so on—will all benefit from what tonight’s recipients have created and nurtured for the good of our community.”

The 20th Anniversary event was held at the Frederick Fair Grounds and attended by  nearly 400 members of the Order of the Good Samaritans – a group of Frederick Memorial Healthcare System’s most loyal donors.   Mackintosh has served on the board of directors of FMH since 2002, and is currently Chairman of the Development Council.  He is also a past Chairman of the Board and has served in a number of other positions.
