Historic “Friends Goodwill” Farm, Circa 1807, Sold in Burkittsville

MacRo is pleased to announce the sale 103 East Main Street in Burkittsville, Maryland.

This 207-acre historic farm, established in 1807 by Henry Burkitt, the founder of Burkittsville, is situated at the foothill of South Mountain, at the edge of the quaint village of Burkittsville.  The property offers stunning views and features 180 acres of prime high yield farmland, a 3,800 square foot home, 3 car detached garage with workshop, a huge bank barn, a stone wash house with fireplace, a brick smokehouse, and additional agricultural buildings.

The farm was previously entered into the Rural Legacy program, preserving its agricultural heritage – one subdivision right was conveyed with the property.

The property closed on December 12, 2020, for a sales price of $1,375,000.   The new owner is SMC Real Estate, LLC, affiliated with South Mountain Creamery, a local dairy owned by the Sowers family whose joy is producing and delivering fresh products that you can put on your table and feel good about.
