Developers’ Fee Enough to ease Overcrowded Schools?

The reported last Thursday that the Board of Education had received an APFO amendment proposal. According to the article: β€œThe proposal, if passed by the Board of County Commissioners, would give developers the option to proceed with a project β€” even after failing the school APFO test β€” by paying a school construction fee.” The Board will not attempt to make a decision on the proposal until the benefits and ramifications of such a change are analyzed at a joint meeting tomorrow. Should the proposal pass, it could make a significant difference on the length of time it takes to begin a school building project.
