For the last quarter century, when anyone familiar with MacRo, Ltd., inquires about rural land in Frederick County, Maryland, most people know that Dave Wilkinson is the Go to Land Guy.  

Over the last 25 years, Dave has earned the respect of not just his customers, clients and fellow land and commercial real estate brokers, but he’s also well-known among county agricultural preservation enthusiasts and the land development community alike.  Wilkinson is one of the very few individuals in the Frederick County real estate brokerage industry who has carved out a very specialized niche which has served him well in assisting property owners and land purchasers in the often complex processes of creating value in rural real estate.

As a long time marketing specialist, Wilkinson has been coordinating the subdivision and vacant property development for most of MacRo’s clients. His knowledge of zoning and subdivision regulations, well established relationships with county government planning, zoning and health department officials, his keen understanding of the ever changing real estate market conditions and land development options is second to none.

His thoroughness to detail in all aspects of the services he offers has provided comfort to those who have entrusted him with their land projects.  At any given time Dave will be marketing a tract of commercial land for sale, coordinating the development and approval for a minor rural subdivision, providing consulting services to a government agency and working with a young farm family in the purchase of their first farm by pursuing funding through a county or state agricultural land preservation program.

With both a B.S. and M.A. degree in Economics from the University of Delaware, and a diversified background as an Assistant Director for the Frederick County Economic and Community Development Commission and a Marketing Director for a Frederick area business campus, Rocky Mackintosh found Wilkinson to be a perfect fit for the land and commercial real estate services firm he envisioned.  

Dave joined MacRo, Ltd. as Director of Marketing in 1992, and has served as Vice President since 1997.

Over the years, Wilkinson has given his time to the community through a number of activities. He is a former member of the Rotary Club of Carroll Creek, a past board member of the Frederick County Chapter of the American Red Cross and past president of the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Frederick County. Dave also coaches youth soccer, basketball and baseball teams for the Ballenger Creek Recreation Council.

Accolades from his team members at MacRo, Ltd. only scratch the surface of the level respect he has earned:

General Manager and Chief Financial Officer Sherri Mercer, a six year veteran of MacRo states: “I really enjoy working with Dave. Dave always has a friendly, Hello, Sherri, when he comes into the office. He is helpful in answering questions anyone may have.  Dave is very patient, understanding, and thorough in all aspects of working with his clients.”

Ashleigh Kiggans, a two year sales and leasing associate with the firm, adds, “If I was to think of one adjective that would describe Dave, it would be: Knowledgeable.
