Trail, a prominent banker and landowner in Frederick City, and it remained in the family until recently sold.  The property features a beautiful stone residence of which the 2,800 SF +/- main section is believed to have been constructed in the 1840’s, a three-story stone tower was added in 1878, and a framed wing with vinyl siding was added to the rear of the stone structure in the 1990’s.  The property also includes a two-story summer kitchen, a 4-bay bank barn, a block dairy barn, a 3-bay machine shed, and a 1,200 SF +/- tenant house.

Riverside includes approximately 175 acres of tillable land, 80 acres of clean woods, and a creek which bisects the land.  It also features over 2,000 linear feet of frontage on the Monocacy River, and it is situated 1/2 mile south of the Monocacy National Battlefield.

The Frederick County Land Preservation Program office stated that this property would be their top priority for the Rural Legacy preservation program. With one lot previously subdivided off the farm, two conventional subdivision rights and 6 ag cluster rights remain.
